Surgical Procedures Performed By Dr. Hubbard

The fact that certain problems of the foot and ankle develop slowly, rather than in a sudden, dramatic accident, does not make them any less uncomfortable or incapacitating. Some of the long-term conditions Dr. Hubbard treats on a regular basis include:

Foot Procedures

We depend on our feet to help us maintain balance and get from one place to another. However, because we typically put a great deal of weight on our feet throughout the day, foot problems that require surgery are quite common. Dr. Hubbard routinely performs a wide variety of surgical procedures when other treatment options for foot pain fail to provide relief. These include:

  • Posterior Tibial Tendon Reconstruction
  • Lisfranc Injury Fixation
  • Hammertoe Correction
  • Cheilectomy for Hallux Rigidus
  • Sesamoidectomy
  • Foot Revision Surgery
  • Spring Ligament Repair
  • Bunion Correction
  • Neuroma Excision
  • Subtalar Fusion
  • Foot Fracture Fixation

Dr. Hubbard is experienced in providing the following surgical procedures for ankle injuries:

  • Achilles Rupture Repair
  • Peroneal Tendon Repair
  • Ankle Arthroscopy
  • Ankle Fusion
  • Ankle Revision Surgery
  • Ankle Ligament Reconstruction

Sports Procedures

Whether you are a professional athlete or play recreational sports, injuries, particularly with the Achilles tendon, can occur. When the Achilles tendon is injured, it may tear or rupture, causing pain that may make it difficult to function. Typically, the most effective  way to treat a tendon tear or rupture is through surgical repair. Dr. Hubbard is experienced in providing these surgical procedures for sports injuries:

  • Achilles Reconstruction with FHL Tendon Transfer
  • Peroneal Tendon Repair
  • Lisfranc Injury Fixation
  • Achilles Rupture Repair
  • Ankle Arthroscopy
  • Cheilectomy for Hallux Rigidus

Cartilage Repair

Cartilage is a smooth but vulnerable tissue that covers and protects the ends of our bones that form the joints of the foot and ankle. Cartilage can be damaged by traumatic injuries, chronic wear-and-tear, and inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Most often, the only way to repair damaged cartilage is through surgical intervention. Dr. Hubbard performs the following procedures for cartilage repair:

  • Fresh Osteochondral Allograft Transplantation
  • Bone Marrow Aspirate
  • Juvenile Allograft Transplantation
  • Bone Marrow Stimulation
